AFQB Piezomatic "Acoustic-Electric"

Sometime in early 2024, I decided on wanted to do a completely-non-magnetic-pickup "acoustic" instrument (nothing but piezos), using a neck I'd pulled off a cheap electric that felt nice

25.5" scale length, a new construction method that recesses the neck-joint heel a little without compromising upper-fret access too badly (just something I wanted to try), and featuring 6 (yes, SIX) separate passive piezo pickups positioned in different locations under the lid.

The volume knob for each is placed roughly below its corresponding pickup, and aside from a bizarre pot sweep on the last volume pot (an accident, to be honest) that offers an interesting "attenuator" effect when turned clockwise, the blendability between all these pickups creates a variety of different tones, ranging from thick and lower-midrangey to brash and trebly.

Some combinations sound pretty awesome, actually. With a proper acoustic preamp pedal, this would make for a great statement to be played at one's acoustic performance. Or, run it through a nasty little fuzz pedal for some wicked, barbed lo-fi/punk sounds. A simple rosewood saddle mounted to the top and a one-piece stainless steel trapeze tailpiece means low maintenance, and the action is dialed in wonderfully.

There might need to be more of these made, it's a fun instrument with a lot of potential.
