Personal CBG #2 - The Tune-O-Matic Version

This one is almost identical to my personal build #1, with the only real differences being the bridges (this one has a contemporary tune-o-matic style bridge instead of the DIY rubber-saddle one on the first one) and the internal placement of the piezo discs. Otherwise, this is basically an identical twin, and I was stoked at the consistencies between them.

Using a nearly identical donor guitar (same basic body shape, neck, etc), I kept the construction methods largely the same, this one just has the more contemporary, familiar tune-o-matic bridge.

Considering how early into my building experience these two were constructed, I'm amazed I got them so close to one another without templates or practice.

Using these fancier boxes with the rounded crowned edges probably made it more difficult, but otherwise, one lesson I learned during these early builds is that the right angles on these boxes are equal parts blessing and curse. It helps you get pickups and bridges (and other parts) technically "squared-up" on the box, but it also means you have to make sure your neck lines up with everything within a certain tolerance.

If not for the bridges and the sanding burn I decided to leave on the rubber-bridge version, you'd almost think I knew what I was doing!

These have come in useful in the studio, and look great hanging on the wall in the studio as well. I don't know if I'll ever bring myself to sell these two in the foreseeable future.
